Mobile optimization has been a “trend” for so long now that many businesses are catching onto the fact that it is now the standard. In 2019, your business cannot afford to have a website that is not mobile-optimized. Why does mobile optimization matter so much today?
Why Mobile Optimization Is So Important
As of October 2016, mobile web browsing traffic has surpassed desktop traffic online. People are much more likely to be looking at your website on their iPhone instead of their laptop, and that’s something every business must adapt to.
- You can’t afford to miss out on the business that comes from a website that isn’t optimized. One study by Google found that over 60% of users are unlikely to go back to a mobile website that they visited if it didn’t load properly or it was not optimized. 40% of those people said they would immediately head to a competitor’s website instead. You could be missing out on tons of business without ever knowing it.
- Google wants to direct customers to websites where they will find what they are looking for. After all, without customers using their search engine, they won’t be able to remain relevant. That’s why Google prioritizes websites that are mobile optimized over those that are not. As of November 2016, Google has been ranking mobile versions before desktop versions and determine the ranking for both versions of the site based on the mobile version.
- When customers can easily find and use your website, the chances of them giving you business are much higher! The investment that you make in mobile optimization will, almost certainly, pay off in the long run and improve the entirety of your customer experience.
