Development is where our team writes the code for individual website functions / features and performs its own unit testing. Once the code is ready for our quality assurance team to review, we move the code to a staging environment. This is where our customer would also review the site prior to launch. Production refers to the live, public-facing site. This process ensures we have fully-vetted the code before anything is made public.
We use three separate environments for the website build, which allows us to move the code through multiple stages to assure that only pristine bug-free code is migrated to production environment:
We will work with your team to confirm the launch date, confirm the plan for hosting, alert the hosting provider of the launch date, and confirm if any downtime will be required. Once the final punch list is completed, we will work with the customer to migrate the new CMS instance, the associated databases and respective files into the production environment.
